Account Manager – Enterprise and Strategic Partnerships
Location: UK-based (remote with regular travel)

Grand Scale is a Belfast-based entrepreneurial education and commercialisation company delivering high-impact capability programmes and scalable digital solutions to innovation agencies, universities, government bodies and high-growth ventures.
As the business scales its institutional partnerships and SaaS-enabled offerings across the UK and beyond, we are seeking a commercially driven Account Manager to lead strategic account growth across public sector and institutional markets.
This is a senior revenue-generating role focused on account expansion, procurement navigation, SaaS contract growth and long-term commercial partnerships.
Role Overview
The Account Manager will own and grow a portfolio of strategic institutional accounts across public sector, higher education and innovation ecosystems.
The role requires strong public sector commercial experience, alongside proven capability in SaaS sales, procurement processes and complex multi-stakeholder deal management.
The successful candidate will combine relationship leadership with structured commercial discipline, ensuring sustainable revenue growth, contract renewals and expansion opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Account Ownership
- Own and grow a portfolio of high-value public sector and institutional accounts
- Develop and execute structured account growth plans
- Build long-term partnerships with senior stakeholders across operational and executive levels
- Identify upsell, cross-sell and multi-year contract opportunities
- Maintain strong renewal and retention performance
2. Public Sector & Institutional Engagement
- Lead commercial discussions with UK public sector organisations, universities and innovation agencies
- Navigate governance structures and complex decision-making environments
- Understand and align to public sector funding cycles and procurement frameworks
- Position Grand Scale as a long-term strategic partner
3. Procurement & Framework Management
- Navigate public sector procurement processes including frameworks, competitive tenders and direct awards
- Lead preparation of bids, tenders and commercial proposals
- Negotiate pricing, contract terms and multi-year agreements
- Ensure compliance with procurement and governance requirements
- Maintain oversight of contract performance obligations
4. SaaS & Digital Solution Commercialisation
- Lead SaaS contract negotiations including licensing models, subscription structures and renewal terms
- Drive recurring revenue growth across digital and scalable offerings
- Identify expansion opportunities within existing institutional accounts
- Contribute to pricing strategy and commercial packaging
5. Pipeline & Commercial Reporting
- Maintain disciplined CRM usage and structured pipeline management
- Provide accurate revenue forecasting and reporting
- Track conversion metrics and account growth performance
- Contribute to scalable commercial processes as the business grows
Experience & Qualifications
1. Essential
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in enterprise or institutional account management
- Strong commercial experience working with UK public sector organisations (e.g. government bodies, universities, agencies)
- Demonstrable experience navigating procurement processes and public sector frameworks
- Proven track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder commercial deals
- Experience selling SaaS or digitally enabled solutions
- Strong contract negotiation and commercial management capability
- Demonstrable experience using CRM systems and maintaining structured pipeline reporting with accurate revenue forecasting
2. Desirable
- Experience within innovation, technology or entrepreneurial ecosystems
- Experience managing multi-year institutional agreements
- Familiarity with UK and Irish procurement environments
3. Skills & Competencies
